This is from one of my new favorite blogs: Wired Magazine's GeekDad (which in this case is linked over to the same's GeekMom). The writer has the enviable job of going to toy fairs and seeing what's new in the toy world. There's some really fun stuff here. I especially like the Campfire Kids sets: all my kids love camping, and perhaps love PLAYING camping more than the real thing. (Grace has a mini-tent setup in her room right now, actually.)
Every year I begin Toy Fair the same way, strolling the aisle searching for the big trends and narratives of the show, and every year I end up gravitating to the same things: toys that I would buy for my kids right now. All my six-year-old wanted was news about Skylanders, so I found myself looking at toys that would appeal to my 21-month-old. These are some of the best toys I found for toddlers.
