Saw Brave on Saturday with the family, and while I loved the animation and didn't think it was a BAD story, per se, it wasn't up to Pixar's standards that they've set for themselves with Up, the Toy Story trilogy, or The Incredibles. I'm glad I brought my girls with me, since it certainly does portray a strong female character, ready made for role model work, but if I had a son I'm be a lot more upset. A post over at Geekdad on Wired nails the problem pretty well, I think. http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2012/06/brave-is-bad-storytelling/
