The Great Easter Vigil

The Blessing of the Easter Fire

I love going to the Great Easter Vigil and always have. It’s a commitment, though. It started at 8PM last night and finished at just past 11PM. It’s involved, but those that want to see the Catholic Church in it’s fully realized liturgical glory, this is the one to go to. It’s solemn, moving, and powerful, even when it’s not done perfectly. And St. Patrick’s does it near perfectly. I can’t imagine that even most examples done in cathedrals would be more well executed and with more faith and passion. I’m very fortunate in so many ways

Happy Easter!
